Two major moves were made today in the world of Major League Baseball.
On deadline day, with the time expiring at 4pm EST, the Red Sox and Reds traded faces of their franchises to opposite leagues.
The Red Sox sent embattled slugger and class clown Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers in a three-way deal and the Reds sent Ken Griffey Jr. to the White Sox for two minor leaguers. Continue Reading »

The Yankees pulled off another blockbuster deal today, acquiring catcher All-Star catcher Ivan Rodriguez from the Tigers for reliever Kyle Farnsworth.
This is the second deal in less than a week for the Yankees that bolsters their lineup.
They acquired outfielder Xavier Nady and reliever Damaso Marte last weekend to bolster their outfield and bullpen for the stretch run. Continue Reading »

The AtlantA Braves and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have swapped first basemen, only days before the July 31st deadline, in a move that helps one team build for the future and the other solidify itself as a serious World Series contender.
If the Angels weren’t good enough going into tonight’s game versus the Red Sox they are now.
