The annual Hank Aaron Award winners were announced on Sunday and were given their award prior to the start of game three of the World Series in Philadelphia.

The two winners were Aramis Ramirez and Kevin Youkilis.

Ramirez is the winner from the National League and Youkilis is the winner from the American League.

The award, which is in honor of one of the greatest sluggers in the history of baseball in Hank Aaron, is awarded to one player in each league and the winners are voted on by the fans of Major League Baseball.

The award is to recognize the most outstanding offensive performer in each league and the fans of baseball cast over 200,000 ballots.

The award was created in 1999 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Aaron breaking Babe Ruth’s career homerun mark.
