NL Gold Gloves Announced

The National League Gold Glove award winners were announced at 4:15pm Eastern Time on Wednesday and a couple of names were left of the list that shouldn’t have been.

Here are the winners:

1B: Adrian Gonzalez (Padres)…player that should have been there-Albert Pujols of the Cardinals.

2B: Brandon Phillips (Reds)…player that should have been there-Chase Utley of the Phillies.

SS: Jimmy Rollins (Phillies)

3B: David Wright (Mets)

Catcher: Yadier Molina (Cardinals)…players that should have been there-Geovany Soto (Cubs), Carlos Ruiz (Phillies) and Russell Martin (Dodgers).

Pitcher: Greg Maddux (Dodgers/Padres)…this was Maddux’s 18th Gold Glove Award, a record for Major League Baseball.

Outfield: Carlos Beltran (Mets), Shane Victorino (Phillies) and Nate McLouth (Pirates)

The American League Gold Glove award winners will be announced on Thursday afternoon.
