Cabrera Joins Nats
The Washington Nationals, in an effort to bolster their starting rotation for 2009, have signed free agent and former Baltimore Oriole Daniel Cabrera to a one year contract.
Cabrera spent the previous five seasons with the Orioles. He will join a Nationals rotation that will feature left handers Scott Olsen and John Lannan.
The deal is pending a physical and the terms of the contract have yet to be announced.
The Nationals beat out the Mets and the Pirates for Cabrera’s services.
In 2008 with Baltimore Cabrera went 8-10 with a 5.25 ERA. He is known for his fastball, curveball and changeup.
